Ovi store charging for freeware App

Today while browsing the Nokia OVI app store on my mobile i was happy to stumble across the great file browsing utility Y-browser.
“That’s cool” i thought, “a great app among the sea of dross of the store.”
I was disappointed to see however that the store was charging for the freeware app.
It can be found on the third page of the Bestselling apps list.

The browser, which can perform more complex tasks than the native file manager is available on symbian series 60 3rd and 5th edition.
The app can be found on threads in the excellent DailyMobile.se forums.
The forums are down at the moment, so if you are looking for the app, you can get it HERE too.

It’s a bit rich being charged for this great freeware app. I wouldn’t mind paying a euro for it if it wasn’t freeware, but looking at the store and some of the awful, pointless and suspect apps available for ridiculous money annoys me.
Its the same as companies charging two to four euros for wallpapers.
So that’s a warning to any mobile users looking for great applications: do a search around the web before parting with your cash.
