Been a little preoccupied lately, and theres been a back up of stories, so heres a mix of things waiting to be posted.
Oldest Twitter User: Was it a sham?
It started with this story. Ivy, 104, was in the papers for possibly being the worlds oldest Twitter user.
Cute posts like “Looking forward to Deal or No Deal later,” “just having a cuppa,” and “chicken casserole was lovely, going to have a nod now.” gained her 4800 friends quickly.
But…
It now appears that UK journalists looking for an easy feel-good story could have put her up to it. May the 14th was the day she sent her first Tweet. Like lightening (the very next day), the ever vigilant and awesome paper The Sun had the article.
Tech Crunch.com smells a rat, do you?
In other news, a cat makes 500,000 friends on twitter…
Dying Woman IDs Online “friend” as her Murderer.
Nimzay Aponte was stabbed to death in New York, in broad daylight.
As she lay dying she whispered “Mike did it…”.
Nimzay chatted to “Mike” (Raymond Dennis) on Local-Hookupz.com and chatted on AOL messenger.
Its believed he was angry at Nimzay for turning down his offers to meet him, and found out she would be attending a job seminar in NY.
He attacked while she sat on a bench with a male friend. She was stabbed, and her friend slashed.
“Mike” had a criminal record of attacking women. Its sad, as when he confronted her the day before, she told her flatmate she believed he was harmless.
RIP.

BayTSP in serious security fail
BayTSP, a company that sends cease and desist notices to online pirates has “an enormous security hole”.
The sent their notices including info such as an “infringement notice ID numbers, email addresses, IP addresses, DNS names, and URLs that would identify users by household or even by device.”
The info was not guarded and protected properly and any amateur hacker could get their mitts on this info.
So far its just bloody embarrassing for the company, and yet another moment of egg on face for the anti-pirate types, but, as said on Read Write Web : “Once this hits 4chan, it’s over.”

New Boards.Ie Menu is kinda awesome!
Lead Developer Ross Duggan has worked his magic and brought a shiny new menu bar to boards.
The menu stays on top of the page in your browser, even when scrolling down a page, and when you hover your mouse over it a shiny new tidy drop down menu appears.
