Two days ago LA Times announced how Facebook was battling its enemy Web 2.0 Suicide Machine.

For those of you (like me until today) who don’t know what the hell suicidemachine.org is, here’s a short cheesy video describing the service :

SuicideMachine is actually a pretty clever idea. Many people are either too lazy or too hooked on social networks to properly delete their profile and this site does all the work.

But Facebook (and in all fairness, you understand why) has blocked their IP.

Of course they don’t want people leaving their site (and loosing them cash).

SuicideMachine.org has responded with this message to their users :

“We are currently looking in ways to circumvent this ungrounded restriction imposed on our service!  Thanks for your understanding.”

When we logged on to check out the site we got this message:

This is something close to my heart. People have no idea what drunken silly things they leave now in their name on social networking pages will haunt them in future years. It’s already started with a couple of TD’s in Ireland.
